In today’s increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, proficiency in languages is a vital skill that gives you the opportunity to engage with the world in a more immediate and meaningful way. The importance of literary activities cannot be underestimated, as they stretch the child’s mind and introduce him/her to the world of wonder that is literature.

Students of classes VI to IX geared up for Urdu competitions on 16th February, 2023. The day began with the Storytelling Competition, wherein the students beautifully expressed their views on the given topics and wonderfully fabricated stories using their imagination and hand gestures.
It was followed by an interesting Urdu Script Reading Competition. The competition encouraged students to practice pronunciation and listen to others. They read out the given script with clear articulation, correct accentuation and voice modulation.The curtain of creativity was finally drawn with the last activity, the Urdu Recitation Competition. A wonderful display of rhythm was witnessed as the students showcased exemplary speaking skills.

The combined result of all three competitions was declared in the morning assembly by Principal, Mr. Francis Castelino. The I position was bagged by Iqbal House, followed by Gandhi House and Sir Syed House at II and III places respectively.

It was an ideal competition to instil the love for learning language and understanding the basic skills required to express views in a confident manner.
