On November 1, 2023, Unity College, Lucknow, conducted a Math Quiz for students of classes IV and V, which was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal, Mr. Francis Castelino, the Vice Principal, Mr. Sachindra Bharti, and the Headmistress, Ms. Kainaat Mansoor.

The event commenced with a divine rendition of the verses of the Holy Quran, followed by the Vice Principal's inspiring address to the students. He congratulated all the young participants for their courage and enthusiasm in taking part in the competition. Emphasising his fondness for Math, he encouraged the students to pay close attention to the questions, as they held the potential to expand their knowledge. He also expressed gratitude to the teachers for arranging a well-organised event.

Following the Vice Principal’s motivational address, the participants enthusiastically engaged in the thrilling quiz, which consisted of four rounds: the MCQ round, the Rapid Fire round, the Buzzer round, and the Tangram round. The competition was intense, with questions ranging from ‘What is the fraction form of 0.75?’ to ‘Which of these numbers is a palindrome?’ and ‘What is the sum of single-digit prime numbers?’ and more. It was a nail-biting competition, with the Tangram round proving to be the game changer.

Principal, Mr. Francis Castelino, shared his excitement at witnessing the young minds engaged in the Math Quiz. He commended the enthusiasm of the children and stressed the importance of such competitions to foster a desire for learning and developing skills and knowledge.

The event concluded on a high note with the Headmistress, Ms. Kainaat Mansoor, announcing and felicitating the winners who received certificates and medals for their outstanding performance. She praised the students for their exceptional performance and dedication and commended the hard work of the teachers who had meticulously organised the event, ensuring its success. Her encouragement and appreciation further reinforced the importance of such events in fostering a love for learning and enhancing students’ knowledge.

The Math Quiz was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication of the participants and the guidance and meticulous organisation of the event by the teachers. The College aspires to host more such events in the future, aiming to promote enthusiasm for learning among its students.
