Extramarks India Pvt. Ltd orchestrated a comprehensive three-day Counselling Programme at Unity College, catering to students from classes VI to XII from November 7 to 9, 2023. The event was meticulously designed to equip students for their imminent Board Exams and the Common Entrance Eligibility Test (CUET) while fostering an understanding of Multiple Intelligence concepts. Vice Principal Mr. Sachindra Bharti and College Counsellor Ms. Nisar Fatima spearheaded the coordination of these enlightening sessions.
Commencing on the first day, Mr. Mohd. Asif shared invaluable insights with X and XII students, focusing on effective Board Exam preparation techniques. He delved into various memory types, concentration spans, and retention strategies. Students were introduced to innovative learning methods such as the Pomodoro and Feynman techniques and received personalised guidance on creating robust revision plans.
The second day witnessed the expertise of Mr. Manik Gulati and Mr. Mohd. Asif as they elucidated the CUET exam format, assessment areas, and procedures. Interactive quizzes made the learning experience dynamic, helping students grasp the nuances of eligibility criteria for various colleges. The session also shed light on scholarship opportunities for Commerce and Science students, girls, and those harboring aspirations of studying abroad. Furthermore, students were enlightened about government portals like the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and other career-related platforms.
The culminating day engaged students from classes VI to VIII in a deep exploration of Multiple Intelligence and the VARK model of learning. Resource persons Ms. Monica Kapoor and Ms. DrishtiSadhwani facilitated a journey of self-discovery, helping students identify their unique learning styles through a well-crafted questionnaire. Practical tips were shared to enhance their abilities, and students were encouraged to align their career choices with their distinctive learning styles. The session also provided comprehensive information about the eight types of Multiple Intelligence.
Principal Mr. Francis Castelino expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons for their invaluable contribution and urged students to make well-informed career decisions based on the knowledge gained during these enlightening sessions.
