Unity College organised a two-day Interactive Counselling Programme for students of classes X and XII on January 25 and 27, 2025, respectively. The sessions were conducted by Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi and were attended by Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, Counsellor Ms Nisar Fatima Rizvi, and teachers including Mr Rajesh Pandey, Ms Huma Rizvi, and Mr Ishaan Derrick.
On the first day, Mr Rizvi addressed the ICSE students of Science and Commerce streams. He emphasised the critical importance of making well-informed decisions when selecting their streams, urging students to gather accurate information before making a choice. He also addressed their concerns regarding subject-related doubts and preparation for the board examinations. In response to their queries, he proposed organising special classes based on the students’ requirements. Additionally, Mr Rizvi assured the students that their career counselling sessions would be conducted after the board examination to guide them in selecting streams aligned with their aspirations and goals.
The following day, Mr Rizvi engaged with the outgoing ISC students of Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams. He advised them never to skip any entrance exam, even if they felt underprepared, as the experience itself could enhance their future prospects. He stressed the importance of making well-informed career choices, exploring opportunities in reputable institutions with high rankings and affordable fees. He also highlighted the benefits of a career in the armed forces, describing it as a profession of dignity offering a lucrative pay package and additional facilities.
Mr Rizvi concluded by addressing students’ queries regarding various career pathways. He reassured them of the College’s unwavering support beyond class XII, offering assistance in areas such as career guidance, financial aid and other needs. He encouraged the students to feel free to reach out to him whenever they required help.
The sessions were lauded by both students and faculty for their insightful content and practical advice, empowering students to navigate their academic and career journeys with confidence.
