Unity College proudly celebrated academic excellence with Award Day ceremonies held on March 25 and 26, 2025, recognising the dedication, perseverance, and achievements of students from the Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary Sections for the 2024-25 academic year.
The grand event witnessed the presence of esteemed alumni as Chief Guests. On March 25, Dr Ghizal Fatima, an alumna of the 2002 batch and Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, as well as Head of the Chronomedicine Unit at Era University, Lucknow, graced the occasion alongside Dr Syed Mohd TauheedAlvi, an alumnus of the 2007 batch, MBBS, DRM, DNB in Nuclear Medicine, currently serving at Apollo Hospital. The Primary Section’s Award Day on March 26 was honoured by Dr Sana Fatima, an alumna of the 2009 batch, MBBS, MD (Radiodiagnosis), and Assistant Professor at Era Medical College, Lucknow, along with Dr Syed Mustafa Kazim, an alumnus of the 2006 batch, PhD (IIT Kanpur - Aerospace Engineering), Modelling and Simulation Engineer at SBL-Schlumberger Limited, Pune, accompanied by his wife Ms Sadaf Zaidi.
The ceremonies were also attended by Manager II Shift Dr Kalbe Sibtain Noorie, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, and Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor. Though Jt Secretary Dr M Talha was unable to attend, he conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the achievers on both the days.
Symbolising the unity in diversity that the institution upholds, sacred recitations were performed on both days. On March 25, Azra Zainab (XI-A), Nashra Fatima (XI-C), Zehra Mehdi (XI-A), and Mohd Farhan (XI-C) recited verses from the Quran, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Bible, and Guru Granth Sahib. On March 26, similar recitations were delivered by Yasha Batool (V-C), Zainab Amina (V-B), and Rida Zainab (V-A).
The prestigious awards were presented across categories such as Top Position Holders, Best Student, Best Sportsperson, 100% Attendance, and All-Rounder. The coveted Student of the Year Award was conferred upon Syeda Zaheen Fatima (VI-B), SakeenaRiyaz (VII-C), Tahzeen Fatima (VIII-A), Fabeha Mehdi (IX-A), and Fatima Ahmad (XI-B). Along with the students, the class teachers of the Primary Section were also honoured for maintaining perfect monthly attendance. Special honours were also extended to Primary Teacher, Ms Kisa Fatima for her exceptional live broadcasting of major school events, including Sports Day, Graduation Day, and both Award Days. Additionally, Maths Olympiad Award Certificates & Medals were presented to Primary students who scored 95% and above.
Cultural performances further enriched the celebrations, with the College Choir presenting the Tarana ‘Unity College Se Wabasta’ on March 25 and a moving rendition of ‘Lab PeAati Hai Dua’ on March 26. The ceremonies were proficiently anchored by Kaunain Zehra (XI-D), Tuba Ahmad (XI-C), Sara Iqbal (XI-C), and Primary Teacher, Ms Sahifa Rizvi. The concluding event on March 26 also carried a thanksgiving speech by Jr Head Girl Abeeha Fatima (V-B) and Jr Head Boy Syed Haider Nasir Naqvi (V-B), expressing gratitude to Headmistress Ms Mansoor and the teachers for their loving guidance and caring support.
The Chief Guests shared invaluable insights, reflecting on their school journeys and expressing gratitude to the institution. Dr Alvi emphasised the importance of hard work beyond awards and advised against harmful habits, while Dr Fatima paid tribute to the Founder President, the late Dr Kalbe Sadiq Saheb, highlighting the moral responsibility of raising upright children. Dr Kazim and Dr Sana Fatima urged students to leverage knowledge and technology responsibly while maintaining strong ethical values.
Principal Mr Mathews reaffirmed Dr Sadiq’s vision of holistic education, while Vice Principal Mr Bharti extended a vote of thanks, commending the alumni for their achievements. In an emotional moment, Headmistress Ms Mansoor delivered her final address, thanking the Unity Family for their unwavering support. She was honoured with a bouquet, garland, and shawl as a token of appreciation.
The ceremonies concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, leaving an indelible mark of inspiration and motivation among students and faculty alike.
