“Compete with a smile, participate as you play, and let Mathematics win...”
Unity College hosted a spirited Inter-House Mathematics Quiz on Saturday, August 30, marked by keen enthusiasm and healthy rivalry. The event was graced by Jt Secretary Dr M Talha, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, Quiz Master Mr Inkit Panjabi, Scorer Mr MirzaSaif Husain, Narrator Mr Heerath Gupta, and Time Keeper Ms Farwa Fatima.
Addressing the students, Principal Mr Mathews said that subjects that require skill, such as teaching and medicine, demand constant practice; without it, the expertise begins to fade. The same holds true for Mathematics. If one does not practise regularly, the concepts, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities can easily be forgotten. He exhorted them to keep sharpening their mathematical skills, and wished that the finest mathematicians would emerge victorious.
Each house presented two teams — Senior and Junior — with two participants in each. The competition unfolded over four exciting and competitive rounds: Mathletes’ Warm-Up, Math Masters, Brain Buster, and Buzzer Blitz. The rounds tested not only speed and accuracy but also logical thinking and teamwork, making the contest both lively and intellectually stimulating. In the final round, the audience was also given an opportunity to respond if the participants answered incorrectly.

2nd Position: Gandhi House
3rd Position: Sir Syed House

Jt Secretary Mr Talhawas highly impressed by the well-organised event and by the young mathematicians who responded with such precision. He remarked winning or losing is secondary; what matters most is the spirit of participation and the enthusiasm with which each student is engaged.
In conclusion, Vice Principal Mr Bharti proposed the vote of thanks. He appreciated the quiz as a scintillating and exhilarating event, and highly commended the organising team, especially MrInkit Panjabi, the Head of the Mathematics Department.
The quiz not only celebrated mathematical aptitude but also inspired students to pursue consistent practice and logical thinking with renewed enthusiasm.
