Unity College witnessed a radiant sight on September 9, 2025, when its Pre-Primary Section marked Red Day. The little learners, glowing in red, filled the day with laughter, creativity, and the simple poetry of childhood joy. The celebration aimed to familiarise the children with the colour red, helping them connect it with everyday objects while exploring their creativity through engaging, hands-on activities.
Each class brought its own charm to the day. The children of Lower Nursery crafted bright red mushrooms from A4 sheets, their tiny hands working eagerly to bring the creations to life. Upper Nursery students designed juicy watermelons on green bases, filling the centres with red and adding black seeds for a realistic touch. They also enjoyed sorting red-coloured objects, reinforcing their learning through playful engagement. Prep learners showcased imagination and growing precision as they fashioned fresh strawberries with leafy green tops, their work both artistic and appealing.
The occasion was made even more memorable by the presence of Principal, Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, who interacted warmly with the children. By asking simple questions such as “What are you making?” and “What is the colour?”, he encouraged the young learners to think, respond, and express themselves confidently, adding inspiration and joy to the day.
The Red Day Activity concluded on a note of happiness, creativity, and accomplishment. The children not only learned about the colour red but also enjoyed a platform to express themselves and explore their imagination. The celebration left them with colourful memories, happy hearts, and a renewed enthusiasm for discovery.
