To commemorate the fifth death anniversary of Founder President Padma Bhushan Late Dr Kalbe Sadiq, a fortnight of public welfare activities was organised at Unity College. As part of this series, Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust, in collaboration with the Organic Club of the College, conducted a tree plantation drive at Unity Farm, Charak, on Monday, December 1, 2025. Students from Unity College (Morning and II Shift), New St John’s School, Taha School, Kalbe Abid Memorial School and AIIMS School participated with great enthusiasm. The programme aimed not only to promote greenery but also to raise awareness about sustainable and organic farming practices.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr HimanshuDhapola, Senior Scientist (Medicinal Plants); Mr Raghavendra Mishra, Secretary of Jan KalyanSevaSansthan; Mr Anand Kumar Saxena, General Secretary of the UP Non-Olympic Association; Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi; Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews; and Organic Club In-charges Ms Nisar Fatima Rizvi, Ms Fizza Mehdi, and Ms IlaShahid.
On this occasion, Scientist Dr HimanshuDhapola, along with representatives from Dabur India Limited, highlighted the significance of organic farming and shared information about various Dabur herbal products, as well as the free motivational organic farming services offered by the company. Their insights enabled students to better understand the importance of environmental conservation and the crucial role organic farming plays in restoring ecological balance. College students Anayah Siddiqui (XI-B) and WahebAskari (IX-B) expressed their views on organic farming, stressing its necessity for a healthier environment and a sustainable future. Secretary Mr Rizvi proposed the vote of thanks, emphasising the need to return to green, nature-friendly practices and encouraging students to become active ambassadors of environmental protection.
The initiative concluded with a renewed commitment to environmental conservation and organic cultivation.
