The Inter-College Debate Competition, held at NBRI Auditorium and organised by the Rotary Club on September 8, saw participation from 39 schools and featured 78 eloquent speakers debating the topic: 'TECHNOLOGY HAS CONTRIBUTED TO INCREASED SOCIAL ISOLATION AND DIMINISHED THE QUALITY OF PERSONAL INTERACTIONS'.
Insha Haider (XI-C) from Unity College, delivered a powerful speech against the motion, earning her the prestigious Best Speaker award. Despite being the final speaker, Insha captivated the audience and judges with her confidence and compelling arguments.
Unity College also clinched the Best Team Trophy, with Insha Haider and Sara Iqbal (XI-C) representing the school. In a special morning assembly on September 9, the trophy was lifted by the two participants and their English teacher Ms Sarah Abbas, amidst great applause. Principal Mr Deepak Mathews congratulated the girls for their outstanding achievement. He mentioned that every child has potential, and when it’s recognised at the right time, it can lead to great achievements. Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti commended their success, calling it a proud moment for the institution. The school's winning streak continues, with this victory adding another feather in its cap.
