ABOUT

What began as a modest set-up in 1999 with just 17 students has metamorphosed into a full-fledged school with 1,500 students who receive free education as part of Unity College Second Shift's goal to provide equal educational opportunity to children irrespective of their financial backgrounds. Classes for Nursery all through to Intermediate (Class XII) are held between 2-6 pm on weekdays with students having complete access to the entire academic and activity infrastructure available to their Unity College morning shift counterparts. Initially a Hindi Medium School the classes are being gradually converted to English medium and till 2020 classes' up till IX have been successfully converted to English medium to cater to the demands of the globalized and competitive market.

SALIENT HIGHLIGHTS

• 100% pass result in Class X and XII
•  Pre-Primary and Primary sections adopted English as medium of instruction.
• Teaching taking place as per Montessori system in the Pre-Primary section of the school
• Student-Centered teaching (SCT) adopted in the Primary section.
• Career counselling sessions by experts for Class X and XII students. An Online Psychometric Personality Test was also conducted for them.
• Training of teachers by M/S. ASEEMA Mumbai on conducting effective online teaching. 
• Several Class XII graduates secure admission in prestigious institutions like Avadh Girls Degree College, Isabella Thoburn College and Lucknow University. While some male students are pursuing engineering, fine arts, animation and multimedia.
• Majority of the students from the school readily get employed after completion of their under graduate program or vocational training diploma.

KEY OUTCOMES

• School has been converted to English medium school till grade IX as it was originally a Hindi -medium school.
• Regular on job teachers training being conducted by Mrs. Sabira Taqi and Mrs. Shamim Abidi.
• Increase in number of students securing admission in undergraduate programs of reputed institutions after graduating from Class XII or opting for Vocational courses. 
• Alumni after completing their graduation getting employed and supporting their families.
• Montessori teaching method adopted at Pre-Primary level to compensate for the lack of a conducive learning environment at students' homes.
• Student-Centered Teaching (SCT) introduced in the Primary school since July 2018.
• Class X & XII Board Exams - 100% pass result with all students securing first division marks. In Class X - all 25 students secured first division marks whereas in Intermediate 32 out of 33 secured First division.
• Students achieved Top positions in Inter School Sports and Extracurricular events.
