    The much awaited day of Urdu Literary &Cultural Fiesta ‘PARVAZ’was held at Unity College on 22nd August, 2019 when the blessings of cool showers made the day tranquil and pleasant. The event was a fabulous tribute to the rich and sweet language URDU and the aim was to keep the language alive and ensure its growth through students’ participation. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Sabiha Anwar- former Principal of KaramatGirls Degree College while the Guest of Honour was Mr.Fazl-e-Imam. Principal Mr. Francis Castelino gave a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and elite guardians. The fiesta included a plethora of programmes commencing with the divine renditions from the Quran, the Bible and the BhagwadGeeta, followed by a melodious welcome song presented by the Pre-Primary and Primary students in a mesmerizing manner. Next was the drama’ NayaSawera’ enacted by Senior students, which very emotionally brought home the burning issue of gender discrimination and the significance of girls’ education-a daughter can do the same what a son can do. The event proceeded to the dulcet string of poetic genre includingHamd, Naat, Mankabat, Rubai, Qataa, Qaseeda, Nazm,Marsiya and Ghazal. The mellifluous recitation not only retained the attention span of new-age kids but also enthralled the audience. The Chief Guest Dr. Anwarapplauded the students and their teachers for the laudable performances. She said these children are like moving torches who will surely bring Urdu to light and usage.Mr. Waqar Rizvi,Chief Editor-Awadhnamahighly appreciated the programme, saying that he has never seen before everything that is in Urdu on one single platform. Prof. Fazl-e-Imam said that only educating a child is not enough, the mission is accomplished when it is quality-wise superb. Everyone present was overwhelmed to see the Founder President and Visionary Leader Dr. S.Kalbe Sadiq gracing the occasion.He prosposed a vote of thanks and also blessed the students and teachers. He said the community that excels in education and power will be successful in the time to come. The programme of learning and participation culminated with applauses and smiles.
