A week-long commemoration buzzed Unity College with a plethora of social activities as a tribute to the Founder President Padma Bhushan awardee late Dr. S. Kalbe Sadiq Saheb on his second Death Anniversary, 24th November. Dr. Sadiq laid the foundation stone of the College and its parallel free education programme 'Unity College II Shift' for the welfare of the underprivileged children and the society at large. His exemplary life and great accomplishments for the cause of educational, social, and economic upliftment of the poverty stricken, and downtrodden community contribute to his rich legacy.
Now as the baton has passed on to the young generation to follow his indelible footsteps, the College organized the Founder's Week from 21st to 27th November, 2022 as per the following schedule:
Day-1 witnessed the benevolent visit to Leelavati Munshi Orphanage and Old Age Home at Moti Nagar, Lucknow.
Day-2 sensitized students to empathy andcompassion for the slum dwellers at Haider Canal, Campbell Road, Lucknow.
Day-3 arranged meeting the sick and the desperate at KGMU & ERA hospitals, Lucknow.
Day-4 was the grand commemoration of Janab’s great Deed of Gift to humanity at the College Premises. It was a bouquet of informative speeches, messages, songs in his praise and reminiscence of his life teachings. The programme was live telecast by Khadijah TV.
Day-5 transported the senior students to Police Station, Chowk to stand in solidarity with the dutiful stalwarts of the society.
Day-6 concluded the week with a self-cleanliness drive in College. The wholehearted participation of the students and teachers was commendable.
All the outdoor activities were coordinated by Vice Principal Mr. Sachindra Bharti, Headmistress Ms. Kainaat Mansoor and Counsellor Ms. Nisar Fatima. The students along with the teachers contributed and donated a number of necessary provisions such as eatables, clothing, blankets and stationeries and distributed the same at the above mentioned places. Their friendly and polite dealings brought a glittering smile on the young and old faces.
Principal Mr. Francis Castelino appreciated the wreath of noble works offered in the loving memory of Janab to whom the College owes every blissful achievement.
