Prep Graduation is an exciting milestone for Pre-Primary students as it’s their first step towards a future full of hopes and possibilities. It marks a new beginning that adds new dimensions to their school life and the journey they begin towards knowledge and education. To revel this progression and development, the Pre-Primary Section at Unity College commemorated their Graduation Day with great verve on 21st March, 2023.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr.NazreAsgar Naqvi, who is presently working as a Sr. Advisor in Business Development at the Ontario Power Generation, Toronto, Canada and is also a sportsman. Also present at the occasion were a galaxy of dignitaries like the College Secretary Mr. Najmul Hasan Rizvi and Dr. Kalbe Sibtain Noorie. The College Principal, Mr Francis Castelino addressed the attendees and warmly welcomed the honourable Chief Guest by according him with a gift as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
The Ceremony commenced with the invocation by the students of class Prep and class I. It was marked by a soulful rendition of the Holy Scriptures, the Quran, Shloks from the Bhagavad Gita and verses from the Bible setting the tone for a string of spectacular performances never seen before.
This was followed by the distribution of the graduate diplomas to the tiny tots of Prep-A along with a photo-shot. The tiny tots looked elegant in their ‘Graduate Attire’. They were warmly welcomed and felicitated by Dr. Kalbe Sibtain Noorie, Manager Unity College II Shift. The tiny tots earned themselves huge applause and appreciation by the gathering while walking on the stage for their convocation.
Next was an enthralling performance by the UN students which left everybody spell bound as they danced on tunes of a song which stoked the inner fire of an individual while urging them to dream big and let the desires in their heart bloom. They displayed breath taking colourful props with highly coordinated movements that promptly set the tone and mood of the atmosphere to an all-time high.
Prep-B graduates were conferred with their convocation certificates by the Chief Guest Mr.NazreAsgar Naqviand the College Secretary.
Following this was a power packed presentation, showcased by the students of class Prep which gave a powerful message to the parents who put enormous academic pressure on their children to score high marks. Through their flawless acts, they displayed how constant parental pressure creates defensive attitudes in children and develops unhealthy habits, injuries, and mental illnesses. Their persuasive performance coaxed the enthusiastic parents to understand the dangers of academic pressure and influenced their behaviour in a positive way.
This was followed by conferring of graduation certificates to the students of Prep-C by the College Principal, Vice Principal and the Headmistress. Their smiling faces were welcomed by rapturous applause from the audience as they received their graduation titles. It was indeed a joyous and memorable day for the little ones as they received their Prep Graduation certificates from the dignitaries.
Along with this, the Pre-Primary students who were 1st position holders in the Math Olympiad were also awarded with certificates and prizes for their success in the competition. The dignitaries congratulated the winners and wished them success for their future endeavours.
Prep-C student, Huriya Zehra, through her small and crisp speech expressed gratitude to all the teachers and thanked them for their endeavours.
The Chief Guest of the occasion, Mr.NazreAsgar Naqviin his convocation address, complimented the graduates on their achievements and also congratulated the teachers for their dedication and hard work in shaping the students through education and other co-curricular activities. He said that graduation is a time to celebrate new beginnings and big dreams for the future. He spoke highly of the College Founder President, Padma Bhushan awardee Late Dr. Kalbe Sadiq, about his exemplary life and accomplishments. He exhorted everyone to live up to his legacy of modern education and take forward his mission.
The programme culminated with a formal vote of thanks by the College Secretary, Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi. He congratulated the students and the parents on climbing the first ladder of success and wished them well for their new journey of formal education. He gave a few tips to the parents in training and bringing up the children.He said that they need to teach them the basic manners and train them well in their upbringing in all aspects – socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. He exhorted the parents to identify their child's abilities and advise them on how to develop their talents.He also laid emphasis on encouraging the students to understand and study in the humble pursuit of knowledge and not cram information. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the teachers and the management for their continuous hard work and efforts.
