The renowned quote "Be the Change You Wish to see in the World" serves as a reminder of the exemplary leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. In honour of this great leader, a special assembly took place on 3rdOctober, 2023. The event commenced with soul-stirring renditions, followed by a speech by Aliya Zaidi from class VI A, focusing on Gandhiji's life and his advocacy for non-violence. Aliya also highlighted how India's nationwide cleanliness campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, drew inspiration from Gandhi's principles. She emphasized Gandhi's belief in cleanliness, not just personally but also in society, along with his deep respect for nature and its preservation.
Zainab, also from class VI A, shared fascinating facts about Bapu. In addition, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Shuja Haider delivered the slogan 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' and shed light on Shastri's visionary life. Later during the day, students from Primary and Senior Secondary Sections embraced the DaanUtsav spirit by distributing paper bags crafted from recycled newspapers to local fruit and vegetable vendors, promoting the reduction of plastic waste and the use of eco-friendly products.
Principal Mr. Francis Castelino encouraged students to embrace cleanliness in their lives, extending from personal spaces to their homes, schools, and surroundings. He motivated them to become agents of change in society by following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, paving the way for success and happiness. He further encouraged them to contribute to environmental conservation by curbing plastic usage and waste.
