On November 20, 2023, Unity College hosted an enlightening session for class X students. Renowned Indian columnist and historian, Rana Safvi, led the session, delving into the architectural and cultural richness of Lucknow.
She intricately explained the structures like ChotaImambara, BadaImambara, Jama Masjid, Picture Gallery, Residency, Shahnajaf, Satkhanda, unveiling the European influences in their hybrid architecture.Ms. Safvi also shared captivating legends associated with these monuments and introduced the concept of Ganga-JamuniTehzeeb, symbolizing the fusion of Hindu and Muslim cultural elements.
The session concluded with a Question and Answer segment followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Vice Principal Mr. Sachindra Bharti.Principal Mr. Francis Castelino expressed gratitude to Ms. Safvi foroffering a profound glimpse into Lucknow’s history, leaving the students with a deep appreciation for the city's heritage and historical significance.
