From March 18 to March 21, 2024, educators from our College participated in a transformative Montessori Training Program hosted by the Assema Charitable Trust in Mumbai. The program aimed to enrich their professional development and was attended by both morning and II shift teachers with great enthusiasm. Notable participants included Ms. Saleha Khatoon, Ms. Rida Mirza, Ms. Zehra Fatima, and Ms. Samreen Fatima.

Under the guidance of experienced trainers Ms. Geeta Subedar, Education Director – Std. VI to X, Delnaz Master, Education Director – Pre-Primary to Std. V, and Ms. JienneMarrie, the training delved deeply into Maria Montessori's educational approach, providing invaluable insights into child development. The sessions emphasised the importance of observation, creating a prepared environment, and utilising appropriate materials, which strongly resonated with the participating teachers.

A significant takeaway from the training was the encouragement to tailor teaching to each individual child, fostering independence and self-exploration. The teachers found great satisfaction in witnessing students evolve into joyful, independent learners.

The practical skills and knowledge gained during the training have significantly enhanced the teachers’ abilities and instilled them with confidence to excel in their roles. They are eager to implement the acquired knowledge, committed to making meaningful contributions to their teaching practices. The meticulous attention to detail demonstrated by the instructors was particularly commendable, with every insight valued and appreciated.

Led by Ms. DilburParakh, Chairperson, and Trustee, the Montessori training at Assema Charitable Trust has empowered teachers with a deeper understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies, fostering a conducive environment for student learning and growth. The coordination of the overall program was efficiently handled by Ms. Bushranaz Shaikh, Director – School Operations and Services.
