The College commemorated World Health Day on April 8, 2024, with a range of engaging activities specifically designed for both the Primary and Pre-Primary sections. The focus of these activities was to instill in the young students the importance of good health and healthy habits.
Pre-Primary students embarked on a fun exploration of dental hygiene. Through interactive activities, they learned the importance of brushing their teeth and mastered effective brushing techniques. A lively colouring and pasting exercise helped them differentiate between healthy and unhealthy food choices. They also participated in fun exercises, highlighting the importance of physical activity for good health.
In the Primary Section, classes I and II participated in interactive activities designed to introduce basic health concepts. Class I students engaged in the ‘Go Away Germs’ activity, a fun experiment that visually demonstrated the effectiveness of hand washing. Meanwhile, class II students participated in a drawing activity where they categorised healthy and unhealthy food items.
A more comprehensive approach was taken in class III. Students participated in breathing exercises and meditation, followed by a game to reinforce healthy habits. They also showcased their artistic talents by drawing their favourite healthy foods.Additionally, a quiz on personal hygiene was conducted to assess their understanding of this crucial aspect of health.
In class IV, students actively participated in creating bookmarks with a World Health Day theme, serving as a constant reminder of the day’s message.
Students in class V took a multi-pronged approach to learning about healthy eating. They were encouraged to draw or write about healthy foods, balanced diets, and the different food groups. Additionally, they participated in poster-making, allowing them to creatively express their understanding of healthy eating principles.
Through these engaging activities, the College’s Primary and Pre-Primary Sections successfully conveyed the significance of good health to its young learners. The day’s events instilled a sense of awareness and empowered the students to make positive choices towards a healthy lifestyle.
