Unity College hosted an electrifying event ‘Palette of Purpose’ on May 4, 2022, showcasing a spectrum of artistic talent featuring an Inter-House Art Competition, Face-Painting and Painting Competitions. The goal was to provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents and engage in experiential learning.
The event commenced with an Art Competition tailored for classes I to V, offering diverse themes such as my community, transportation, and personal favourites like superheroes. Students from these classes demonstrated their creativity and skills through drawings and paintings, adding a colourful touch to the festivities.
Following this, in the Face Painting Competition, senior students (IX to XII) formed a team of two contestants to represent their respective Houses, while juniors (VI to VIII) competed individually. The theme options—'Save the Planet Earth' or 'Save Energy' for seniors and 'Save the Girl Child' or 'Stop Child Labour' for juniors—challenged participants to intertwine creativity with social consciousness. Students eagerly painted their co-participants' faces, expressing their ideas in captivating ways. The fusion of artistry and advocacy allowed them to convey powerful messages both individually and collectively.
Following intense competition, champions were crowned. Principal, Mr. Deepak Mervyn Mathews, commended the students and Art Teachers, Ms Sadhna Pal, Ms Sabiya Bano, Ms Ruby Rizvi, and Ms Hejana Rizvi, for orchestrating a meticulously executed event that showcased the students’ creative spirit and commitment to meaningful expression.
