On November 27, 2024, the Pre-Primary Section of Unity College celebrated Green Day with a series of creative activities aimed at fostering environmental awareness and appreciation for nature.
The day unfolded with a series of engaging activities, starting with the Lower Nursery students. They embarked on a delightful journey of discovery, pasting four distinct types of leaves onto their scrapbooks. This hands-on experience not only fostered a connection with the natural world but also imparted knowledge about the diverse plant life surrounding them.
Upper Nursery students, in turn, delved into the world of art and nature with the Lady’s Fingerprinting Activity. Using this unique tool, they crafted intricate tree designs on their scrapbooks, sparking curiosity about the significance of trees in our environment. This artistic endeavour transformed learning into a joyful experience.
The day culminated with the class Prep students' Turtle-Making project. By drawing large green circles on sheets and employing bottle caps as printing stamps, they brought their turtle creations to life. This interactive activity not only stimulated creativity but also reinforced the importance of environmental conservation.
Through these activities, Green Day successfully promoted environmental awareness among the young students, inspiring them to develop green habits, such as recycling, conserving resources, and protecting the planet for future generations.
