On December 4, 2024, a special event, ‘Transport Day’, was organised for the Pre-Primary Section of Unity College to ignite young minds with the wonders of transportation. The event aimed to create awareness and excitement about different modes of transport while fostering cognitive, motor, and social skills.
Students enthusiastically participated in various hands-on activities. They brought their own toy vehicles, using them to explore and discuss different modes of transport with their classmates. Creative craft projects encouraged them to use their imagination, constructing transportation-themed models using materials such as crayons, glitter sheets, paper plates, and popsicle sticks. A sensory bin filled with transportation-themed objects provided a fun and tactile learning opportunity.
Lower Nursery students participated by bringing their toy vehicles, identifying them, and sorting them into categories based on the type of transport. Upper Nursery students used their creativity to design and construct craft models of land, air, and water transport, which were beautifully pasted into their scrapbooks. Prep students showcased advanced skills by designing and assembling intricate transport-themed models, reflecting their understanding and creativity.
Overall, the event successfully sparked curiosity and imagination in the students, fostering both their cognitive and social development in an enjoyable and educational setting.
