A JOYOUS CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AT UNITY

The Special Assembly of December 24, 2024, celebrating Christmas was filled with a warm, festive atmosphere that enveloped the entire school premises.

The assembly began with a soulful rendition of Quranic verses from Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Ale Imran, and Surah An-Nisa, presented by Mirza Azam Raza (VIII-A). Each verse was followed by an English translation delivered by Sahrish Mirza (III-B), Bisma Fatima (III-B), and Fatima Kulsoom (III-C), emphasising the purity and virtues of Bibi Maryam (AS) and Prophet Isa (AS), and highlighting their honourable and virtuous lives.

A captivating skit followed, performed by Zahra Rizvi, Yashra Fatima, and Fariya Fatima (IX-C), along with Aliza Zehra (VII-C). The act was engaging from start to finish, particularly when Santa made a surprise visit, delivering the powerful message of love, sharing, and kindness. The skit reinforced the idea that festivals are not only for celebration but also for sharing and caring.

The choir, which included Areeba Mehdi and ZayraMazhar (VI-B), Ayat Fatima, Sayyeda Fatima Zaidi, IqraNaqi, and Naba Zehra (VII-C), Zainab Amina (V-B), and Wajeeha (V-A), then presented a beautiful rendition of the Christmas carol ‘Christmas Bells Are Ringing,’ filling the gathering with festive cheer.

Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews shared in the joy of the occasion, urging the students to appreciate the good things in life – their noble parents, true friends, and the gift of happiness – and to be grateful to God. With the wisdom that “time and tide wait for none,” he encouraged the students to seize every opportunity and continue progressing in life.

The Christmas celebrations continued with a festive party, attended by College Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Principal Mr Mathews, Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor and all the teachers. Mr Mathews, donning a Santa hat, cut the Christmas cake amidst joyful, resounding Christmas wishes from all. In his address to the teachers, he stressed the importance of continuously refreshing their skills and advancing in their profession. The celebrations culminated in a sumptuous high tea, enjoyed by all.

It was truly a day filled with happiness, togetherness, and a reminder of the true spirit of Christmas.
