The Primary Section of Unity College hosted an inspiring Recitation Competition for Classes I to III and a Declamation Competition for Classes IV and V, aimed at fostering public speaking skills and boosting students’ confidence. The event highlighted the importance of pronunciation, expressive gestures, and stage presence.
Graced by the presence of Jt Secretary Dr M Talha, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, and Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor, the programme began with a divine rendition and a warm welcome speech by Principal Mr Mathews. The proceedings were seamlessly anchored by Ms Sahifa Rizvi.
The first segment of the event featured students from Classes I to III, who recited pieces on diverse topics like good and bad touch, nature, the solar system, school, and homework. Their vibrant performances, teamwork, and coordination left the judges, Ms Saima Kulsum and Ms Rida Mirza in awe. Jt Secretary Dr Talha commended their efforts and shared valuable tips to further refine their skills.
Following this, the Declamation Competition saw students from Classes IV and V eloquently delivering speeches inspired by distinguished personalities, including MalalaYousafzai, Jay Shetty, Nick Vujicic, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sir Ratan Tata, and Shikhi Sharma. Their confident delivery and profound understanding of the speeches made it a tough task for judges Ms Mahlaqua Siddiqui and Ms Sarah Abbas to determine the winners.
While the results were being tabulated, the judges offered constructive feedback and praised the students’ outstanding performances. They also acknowledged the dedication of the teachers behind this success.
Principal Mr Mathews congratulated all participants and lauded their remarkable efforts. He expressed his appreciation for Headmistress Ms Mansoor’s leadership in organising such impactful events. The winners were honoured with certificates presented by Mr Mathews, Ms Mansoor, and Primary In charge Ms Tazeen Rizvi.
The event concluded with a heartfelt speech by Ms Mansoor, who expressed immense pride in the students’ immaculate performances. She encouraged them to pursue excellence with passion and thanked her team of teachers for their unwavering commitment.
The event was a resounding success, showcasing the talents of Unity College’s young orators and leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
