Unity College successfully conducted the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) Olympiads, encompassing a series of tests aimed at enhancing students' academic proficiency across Primary and Secondary Sections. Each Olympiad was designed in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by CBSE, ICSE/ISC, and State Education Boards, ensuring that students were assessed on relevant and standardised academic content. The tests were meticulously conducted under the able guidance of Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bhartiand Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor.
The SOF IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad) was held on October 22, 2024, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 450 students across both primary and secondary sections. The competition challenged students with a wide range of mathematical problems, fostering logical reasoning and numerical aptitude.
Following this, the SOF IEO (International English Olympiad) took place on November 8, 2024, where 313 students participated. This examination aimed to assess students' command over the English language, including grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary, in alignment with global standards.
The final Olympiad in the series, the SOF ICSO (International Computer Science Olympiad), was conducted on December 20, 2024, with 118 students appearing for the test. The examination assessed students’ knowledge of computational thinking, programming logic, and digital literacy.
A significant number of students from each class secured gold medals for their outstanding performance, while all participants received a ‘Certificate of Participation’ along with a comprehensive ‘Student’s Performance Report’. These reports provided valuable insights into individual strengths and areas of improvement, enabling students to further enhance their skills.
The SOF Olympiads at the College not only nurtured students' intellectual abilities but also instilled a spirit of healthy competition and academic excellence.
Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews praised the students for their exceptional performances and remarkable achievements.
