The Pre-Primary Section of Unity College resonated with joy and celebration as the Graduation & Award Ceremony was held on March 24, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone for the young learners as they took their first step towards academic progression.
The occasion was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Mr Azam Zaidi, a trustee of Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust and a retired Chief Conservator of Forests (IFS), Manager II Shift Dr Kalbe Sibtain Noorie, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, along with the parents. Principal Mr Mathews extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and parents, highlighting the significance of a strong foundation in the early stages of learning.
The ceremony commenced with soulful renditions from the Holy Scriptures (The Holy Quran, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, and Holy Bible) promoting the message of unity in diversity, recited by Zahra Fatima (Prep-B), Sahrish Fatima Raza (Prep-B) and Shifa Rizvi (Prep -C).
The tiny tots then captivated the audience with a series of mesmerising performances centered on hygiene awareness. The Upper Nursery students set the stage alight with an energetic action song, ‘SwasthShareer; ShudhVichaar’, emphasising the philosophy "Feel Good; Think Good", aligning with the principles of cleanliness and well-being. This was followed by an engaging skit by the Prep students, vividly depicting the adverse effects of an unhygienic lifestyle on health and mental well-being.
The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of outstanding students in various categories, including Best Student, Best Disciplined, Best Writing Skills, Best Groomed, and 100% Attendance. The dedicated class teachers who maintained 100% attendance in different monthswere also awarded with certificates. Additionally, the Prep students who achieved a perfect score in the Maths Olympiad were specially commended for their excellence.
A moment of pride and nostalgia enveloped the atmosphere as the graduating students of Prep-A, Prep-B, and Prep-C proudly donned their "Graduate Attire" to receive their diplomas. The event concluded on a heartfelt note by Wajiha Hasan (Prep-A) and Kulsum Fatima (Prep-C) expressing gratitude to their teachers for their loving guidance and caring support.
Mr Zaidi profoundly appreciated the College for fostering an exemplary atmosphere that beautifully reflected the nation’s rich secular ethos. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students on their graduation, and expressed his appreciation for the teachers and parents for instilling commendable values in the younger generation. He bestowed his blessings upon them, wishing that they grow into noble and responsible citizens of India.
The curtain was drawn on the Ceremony of Honour and Awards with a vote of thanks delivered by Principal Mr Mathews. The event was a resounding success, celebrating not only academic achievements but also the values of discipline, perseverance, and gratitude, thereby laying a strong foundation for the young learners' future endeavours.
