The Diwali Activity held on October 25, 2025 at Unity College brought colour, cheer, and festive excitement to the Pre-Primary Section. Coordinated under the guidance of Pre-Primary Incharge Ms SabicaZehra, the activities were thoughtfully planned to introduce young learners to the cultural significance of Diwali while nurturing their creativity, imagination, and fine motor skills through engaging, hands-on crafts.
Classrooms came alive with laughter and vibrant displays as children immersed themselves in Diwali-themed projects. Lower Nursery students crafted fountain firecrackers (Anaars) using glitter sheets and finger painting, delighting in the sparkle and colour while enhancing their coordination and artistic expression. Upper Nursery children created paper candles through folding techniques, accentuated with glowing orange glitter flames, learning in a joyful manner how light symbolises hope, positivity, and happiness. Prep students decorated mud diyas with beads, sequins, mirrors, and glitter, turning simple earthen lamps into radiant works of art and expressing their individual creativity in festive ways.
The celebrations were further enriched by the words of the Principal, Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, who encouraged the children to embrace the spirit of Diwali with joy, kindness, and togetherness, emphasising the importance of spreading light and happiness in their homes and communities.
The activity was a delightful success, filling the classrooms with colour, laughter, and the true spirit of the festival, leaving students and teachers with cherished memories of creativity and celebration.
