A History Seminar was organised on December 4, 2025 by History Teacher Mr Mohd Mohiuddin, in collaboration with the History students of class XII-A. The initoative aimed to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding of the prescribed syllabus while enhancing their research, presentation, and analytical skills ahead of the Board examinations.
The seminar commenced with a presentation by Basila Fatima, who discussed the rise and early victories of the Axis Powers during the Second World War. She highlighted significant events such as Germany’s invasion of Poland, the expansion into Europe, the occupation of Denmark and Norway, and Hitler’s attempted assault on Britain. She concluded with the reflective lesson that wars are not won merely by fighting, but through strategy and intellect. This was followed by an insightful presentation on the Defeat of the Axis Powers by Zehra Naqvi. She elaborated on the key military and political strategies employed by the Allied forces, the critical strategic errors made by the Axis leaders, and the decisive superiority of the Allies. She explained how these factors ultimately led to Germany’s surrender and Japan’s capitulation in the face of overwhelming pressure from the United States and the Soviet Union. The final presentation was delivered jointly by Mohd Imran and Ayan Ali Mehdi, who explored the historical and contemporary dimensions of the Israel–Palestine Conflict. They effectively outlined the root causes—primarily disputes over land—while also shedding light on the evolving geopolitical situation and the humanitarian implications. The seminar was seamlessly anchored by Shaur Fatima, who ensured smooth transitions and maintained engagement throughout the event.
Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews appreciated the endeavour, remarking that such research-based activities deepen students’ knowledge, sharpen their focus, and serve as excellent preparation for the Boards. He described the seminar as a form of learning that combines reading, writing, and critical study, much like well-prepared notes. Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti also commended the efforts of the teacher and students, noting that the learning activity would greatly assist learners in retaining concepts. He concluded with the famous words of Confucius: “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.”
The enriching event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Mr Mohiuddin, acknowledging the enthusiastic participation of the students. Such initiatives at the College continue to foster academic curiosity and inspire students to strive for excellence.
