Unity College delivered an impressive performance at the La Martiniere Cup Football Boys Tournament, held from December 4 to 12, 2025, showcasing remarkable skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The College team began its victorious journey by defeating Indus Valley College with an emphatic 4–0 win. In the second match, the team dominated Colvin Public School, registering a massive 10–0 victory. Continuing their winning streak, Unity faced La Martiniere College in the third match and emerged triumphant with a commanding 6–0 scoreline.In the quarter-final match held thereafter, the College defeated Sacred Heart College by 2–0, securing a well-deserved place in the semi-finals. The semi-final encounter saw Unity take on Stella Mary’s College, where they clinched a thrilling 2–1 victory to advance to the final. The final match, held on December 12, was played against La Martiniere College. Despite a spirited and determined performance, the College narrowly lost the match by 1–0, finishing as the runners-up of the prestigious tournament.
Adding to the glory, Husain (X-C) emerged as the Top Scorer of the tournament, scoring an outstanding 9 goals, while Mohd Haider (IX-B) was honoured as the Best Goalkeeper for his exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews and Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti lauded the players and their Coach Mr Amir Ali for bringing pride to the institution and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in future tournaments.
