Unity College had the privilege of welcoming Dr Sarah Musavi, a Health Guide from Canada, along with her associates, to the Campus on February 10, 2026. As part of the College’s continuing commitment to healthy and sustainable living, Dr Musavi had introduced Organic Farming at Unity four years ago, a pioneering initiative in Lucknow. The effort has since expanded into a dedicated site, Unity Organic Farm at Charak.
The programme began with a visit to the Organic Garden, where Dr Musavi interacted with members of the Organic Farm Club, teachers and students from the Primary to Senior Sections. She invited the students to share the objectives and achievements of the Club, and discussed the importance of wholesome as well as natural food in maintaining good health. She encouraged students to gradually shift towards healthier eating habits and to avoid excessive consumption of junk and packaged foods. During her interaction, Dr Musavi discussed practical organic farming techniques and appreciated the progress already made by the students in this field. She also spoke on naturopathy and wellness, highlighting simple, natural practices that support lifelong health and well-being. Emphasising the importance of prevention, she encouraged both students and staff to adopt healthy routines and to serve as health guides within their communities.
Dr Musavi later conducted a session for teachers in the Organic Garden, focusing on the close relationship between personal well-being and effective teaching. She motivated educators to prioritise their health and reduce unnecessary stress, remarking that “the healthiest is the wealthiest”. She also encouraged everyone to grow beneficial plants, such as Tulsi, at home and incorporate them into daily life. Addressing broader concerns, she spoke about the need to protect natural food systems and expressed concern over increasing external control of food production in some regions of the world. She highlighted the importance of sunlight as one of the oldest and most essential natural therapies for maintaining health. The visit concluded with a meaningful interaction with teachers on wellness and holistic living. The programme was coordinated by Ms Nisar Fatima Rizvi, Ms Fizza Mehdi and Ms Ila Shahid.
Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews and Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti expressed profound gratitude to Dr Musavi for her invaluable guidance and commitment to the noble cause of healthy living. The visit reinforced the College’s ongoing dedication to holistic education, sustainable practices and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
