WORLD HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION

On 18 April, 2026, the Primary Section of Unity College observed World Health Day with a series of well-structured and purpose-driven activities for Classes I to V. The celebration aimed to sensitise young learners towards the importance of good health, balanced nutrition, and an active lifestyle, fostering awareness from an early age.

The day reflected enthusiasm and active engagement across all classes. Teachers highlighted the significance of physical well-being, reinforcing that a healthy body nurtures a focused and resilient mind. Students were encouraged to adopt sustainable healthy habits in their everyday lives.

Class I learners participated in a visual sorting activity using disposable plates, categorising healthy and unhealthy food items, which helped them develop basic nutritional awareness in an engaging and interactive manner. Class II students presented thoughtfully arranged displays of healthy food choices supported by charts, reinforcing mindful eating habits and informed dietary decisions.

Class III showcased their understanding through creatively designed posters on themes such as Healthy Lifestyle, Mental Well-being, Fitness, and Nutrition, enriched with meaningful slogans promoting awareness. Class IV engaged in an imaginative ‘Healthy Fruit Mask’ activity, blending creativity with awareness to highlight the importance of fruits in a balanced diet.

Class V students attended a rejuvenating yoga session, where they practised a range of asanas including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Marjariasana, Bhujangasana, BaddhaKonasana, and Balasana, along with guided breathing exercises. The session fostered physical flexibility, improved concentration, and promoted mental calmness, while reinforcing the importance of yoga in daily life.

The celebration concluded on an inspiring note, leaving students with a deeper understanding that health is not merely a choice but a lifelong commitment. The event successfully instilled the enduring message that “Health is Wealth”, encouraging learners to embrace discipline, mindfulness, and well-being in their daily lives.
