Career decisions play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of students. In today’s competitive world, knowing about choices available helps children in their decision-making process. Keeping this in mind, Unity College, Lucknow organised a Career Counselling Session on GST for Commerce students of classes XI and XII. The resource person for the session was Ms. UmmeSalim (CS).

College SecretaryMr. Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Principal Mr. Francis Castelino, Vice Principal Mr. Sachindra Bharti and senior Commerce teachers of the College also attended the session. 

The resource person diligently explained the introduction of GST by the Government of India and made students aware of the possible job opportunities which they could avail if they had deeper knowledge of GST. Students got acquainted with the fact that GST is levied at every stage of the manufacturing and sale process and hence is a multi stage tax, unlike the other previous taxes.College Secretary Mr. Najmul Hasan Rizvi expressed his gratitude to the resource person for conducting an informative session. He further briefed the students with the tremendous changes which had taken place in the tax system of India. 

The session concluded with an interactive Question & Answer round which witnessed a lot of enthusiastic participation from the students. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice Principal Mr. Sachindra Bharti.

The entire session was not only informative but also opened up various avenues for the students to explore in order to plan their career.
