The Aseema Montessori Teachers Offline Training Session took place at Unity College, Husainabad, Lucknow, from 31 August to 4 September 2026, with sessions held daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Founded in 1995 by Chairperson and Trustee DilburParakh, documentary filmmaker Neela Kapadia, and Bombay High Court advocate SnehalParanjape, Aseema promotes child-centred education, expanding from 18 children in 1997 to over 4,400 children today. Education Director Delnaz Master was also associated with the programme. The training was facilitated by experienced Montessori educators Jeanne Marie Mathias, Head Pre-Primary at KMS and PCMS; Casilda D’Souza, Pre-Primary Incharge at KMS; and Pragati Joshi, Senior Teacher. The programme was conducted under the stewardship of College Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, with guidance from Principal II Shift Ms Shabana Ahmad and Academic Advisor for the Unity Education Programme under TMT Ms Tahseen Zaidi.
The training brought together educators from across participating institutions. Unity College, Husainabad, Lucknow, was represented in both the I and II Shifts by Ms SalehaKhatoon, alongside II Shift educators Ms Mahnoor Zaidi, Ms Aziz Fatima, Ms MerajMurtuza, Ms Hina Fatima, Ms ZehraAbidi, Ms Afreen Fatima, Ms Samreen Fatima, Ms Sheerin Fatima, Ms Butool, and Ms Bushra Zaidi from TMT. Unity Play School, Allahabad, was represented by Ms Aafreen Rizvi and Ms Vashoor Fatima, while Jafaria Little Flower Convent, Jalalpur, was represented by Ms Munzira Fatima, Ms Shaikh EibaZehra, and Ms Deepa.
Over the five days, the curriculum progressed systematically. Day 1 focused on classroom observation, routines, children’s behaviour, and engagement in Lower Nursery and Upper Nursery, emphasising objective observation as the foundation of Montessori practice. Day 2 explored the prepared environment, practical life, sensorial, language, and mathematics activities, stressing presentation sequence, material handling, teacher movement, and independence. Day 3 covered language and cultural development through vocabulary enrichment, nomenclature pictures, conversation, storytelling, poetry, OPA, orientation games, team-building, sandpaper letters, green sounds, movable alphabet, and the stamp game for multiplication and division. Day 4 detailed tactile preparation, letter families, line placement, short and long bead chains, skip counting, action words, puzzle words, word baskets, articles, and nouns, illustrating the movement from concrete sensory experiences to abstract understanding. Day 5 concluded with language presentation reviews, observation, practice, and constructive feedback, reinforcing precision, patience, and consistency.

The training strengthened the connection between Montessori philosophy and classroom practice, equipping teachers to observe thoughtfully, present materials precisely, and foster independence, confidence and joyful learning.
